Fandango’s Flash Fiction Challenge #210

Fandango FFFC

Welcome! I am temporarily hosting the FFFC while Fandango recuperates. Please join me in sending good vibes to Fandango with the hope that he’ll be back in top blogging form ASAP. In the meantime, I will be posting a photo I grab off the internet and challenging bloggers to write a flash fiction piece or a poem inspired by the photo. There are no style or word limits.

This week’s photo is credited to Diane and Sam. Last weekend they took their dogs to play in the snow (in Southern California!). Lily (white) is on the left. She is sitting down with her nose pointed to the sky. Rory (golden) is lying down in the snow next to her sister and is looking in the opposite direction. Rory has snow booties on, while Lily does not. Both dogs are leashed.

  1. I’m sure these two are wondering: where did all of this snow come from? Meanwhile in central Ohio, my snow shovel has been sitting idle since late December.

  5. This sounds like a wonderful and fun weekend activity. I can imagine how beautiful and peaceful it must have been to watch the dogs playing in the snow. It’s heartwarming to see the bond between the two dogs, with one sitting and gazing up while the other is lying down and taking in the scenery in a different direction. It’s also great to hear that both dogs were leashed and under control while enjoying their time in the snow. The fact that Rory had snow booties on is a great example of responsible pet ownership, as it shows that Diane and Sam were looking out for their furry friend’s safety and comfort in the chilly weather. It’s always great to see pet owners taking care of their animals and making sure they have a fun and enjoyable time, even in unexpected places like Southern California snow.

    Here is my contribution.
