TMP93: Ducks

TMP monday peeve kitty cat

Welcome to my refreshed Monday Peeve! Unburden yourself of an annoyance and you’ll feel better afterward. Or not. Complain in my comments or crab in your own post. Doesn’t have to be on a Monday. You do you.

I like ducks… in parks, where they belong, but not in our pool! There’s a huge park nearby with a big pond, but for some reason we have a zillion ducks here. To be fair, all the water here isn’t part of the pool… there’s a waterfall and a pretty rock pond, which is fine for ducks ~ if only they’d stay in those areas, but nope. Yesterday again when I went down to get the mail, three ducks were chilling in the pool. It’s so icky to imagine going in the water with all that duck poop everywhere; I honestly do not understand how anyone could, or even worse, let little kids go in there. Yuckity yuck yuck! I know the water is chlorinated and filtered, but still itโ€™s blech! YES, the ocean is also disgusting (however beautiful), since it’s full of fish poop, seal poop, people poop, and dead bodies of god knows what, which is why I don’t go in there either.

Gross.

  2. Ducks are cute, but keep them in the lakes and ponds. One year we had a huge rain with flooded streets, and the lake by our house swelled so much the ducks were swimming down the street! Same goes for me, I’ll never go in those kinds of water – fish – horrid, plus as you say – poop! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. They should pass a law requiring all birds to wear diapers, but I would hate to have the job of changing them.

  5. Chuckle ๐Ÿ˜‚ Chuckle ๐Ÿ˜‚ your description of the ocean ~ ducks on the loose not exactly fun.
I remember being chased by a few at a campground when somehow, I missed the ‘no trespass’ sign.

  8. I think pigeons might be worse. No boundaries. Then again, I just posted a picture of a quail mom and chicks by the pool–but they’re so cute.

  9. Love ducks, and we have loads in the local park that may find their way onto our estate and our front garden. It’s the geese that are a problem. We have hundreds come here for the breeding season and the mess……….!!

  10. I agree, yuck! Although I can think of worse things to find in that pool. I used to have a pond in the old house, there’s no water in there but each time it rained, I would find drowned rats at the bottom. ๐Ÿคฎ

  13. Love ducks, hate pigeons. We have solar panels, and even with netting and hedgehogs (for the guttering) they still refuse to go.

  15. We’re still battling a cardinal that started attacking just after Christmas. We have to keep the car mirrors clean by covering them with plastic bags. https://bilocalalia.wordpress.com/2022/12/27/a-cardinal-rule/

That’s what I look like when my favorite coworker comes in bringing the stack of mail. They always send him because they know I won’t beat him with the stack lol

      • Law firms are not the same at all. For some reason, it seems that attorney’s have wet dreams about creating needless paperwork and spending tons of money on stamps.

My absolute favorite thing in the world is to receive a gigantic packet of paperwork, full of useless staples placed to make my day a nightmare. It’s sent certified, return receipt requested, which basically means that this attorney spent close to $40 to mail this to us. Fine. I pull all of the staples out, scan the whole thing, put staples back in and give to my boss. My boss confirms that I scanned it and put it in the proper file and then it goes to the shredding company (which makes no sense, which I will explain). Then two days after we received this, the attorney gets the green-card back, and then emails the whole mess to us. Why spend the $40 (not to mention the ink and paper his poor secretary had to use. Just email it and ask for confirmation it was received! Anyway, now I just spent over an hour scanning this mess to have received the whole thing as a PDF two days later. The packet of copies sent to us has been sent to the shredder. Now it’s time for Court. I have to make sure all if it is printed out again, along with a ton of other stuff. Now, I’m reprinting the packet of nonsense I shouldn’t have had to spend an hour scanning just to get via email, along with a ton of other stuff handled the same way. And I’m printing out up to 4 copies of it. And also transferring it all to a thumb drive. The attorney then presents said thumb drive and hard copies to the Court, and a giant pack of papers to the opposing counsel, and needed a copy for himself. The fourth copy is just because he didn’t make me insane enough the first three times when the printer jammed a billion times.

Oh, and that’s only one piece of mail out of like 40 that come in on a Monday.

Seriously, my *favorite* thing is mail. (sarcasm dripping endlessly)

      • Oh, just you wait! When I get the inevitable paper cut, I’m going to go after them for workman’s comp AND sue them for hazardous work environment because I was injured on the job. hehehehehe
I just have to find a lawyer sleezy enough to take that case, but good enough to win it lol
