I’m a morning person, except when I have a migraine. I expected one this week, during the Santa Ana winds on Wednesday, but it waited until Friday to strike. Tricky devils, they are. Thank you to the scientists who discovered triptans for migraines and specifically sumatriptan, which works like magic for me. This was a relatively tame migraine anyway, but it’s inevitable I’ll get a horrible, stabby, nauseating one again at some point. Is that pessimistic? Nah, just realistic. Despite the pain, there’s got to be a morning after, so I focus on that.
Morning has broken, like the first morning, and Monday morning you sure look fine. I’m always thinking in song lyrics. They may be the last to go, after I’ve forgotten everything else including my own name. Mary in the Morning was a song sung by Paper Lace. They have a lot of morbid songs, you know? I’m not complaining, just saying. I really like them. Mary in the Morning is about a guy going off to war. The Night Chicago Died is pretty morbid, though it has a happy ending, and I Did What I Did for Maria is full of death. That might be my favorite.
Early Morning Rain is one of my favorite songs from Gordon Lightfoot, so sad and lovely. And what about Blue Morning, Blue Day by Foreigner. Also great. And who can forget Angel of the Morning? I always thought that was about having an affair with a married man, but I could be wrong. It makes sense that it would be though ~ don’t you think so? There’s some Beatles song where they yell Good Morning repeatedly, but idk if that’s the name of the song. Oh, and Good Morning Starshine from Hair. I love that musical. I should watch it again soon. There are so many shows I haven’t seen though… I’ll never get caught up. New Christmas romcoms are coming out!
Christmas morning. That’s a thing, waking up all excited for your presents and running to the tree to start ripping through the paper and ribbons. Unless you open presents on Christmas Eve. Some do, but then what do you do in the morning? I guess you can eat cookies and play with your new stuff.
I bought myself a present yesterday, not that I meant to. What happened was CVS sent me a coupon for 10 free prints, but it came with a threat. If I failed to create an order before December something or other, they would delete all my old projects. OH NOES NOT MY OLD PROJECTS! I actually don’t care about my old projects, but I thought what the heck, I should order the free prints. Naturally, I couldn’t decide on 10, so I ordered 40. Which of course was their plan. I got the free ones and also spent $12.61 on the others.
Then I realized I had nowhere to put them, so of course I ran right over to Amazon and bought a pretty 4×6 photo album. It has 50 sleeves though, so you know… I’ll have to order 10 more prints. Yeah. That’s how it is. Thanks a lot CVS.
