Lightning cracks the sky and icy rain sheets down in a rage. Blossoms shiver and shake. The world has been too long without water and laps it up greedily like a starving beast. Meadows flood as the earth regurgitates its gluttony. Anger sated, the storm retreats to the heavens where it sulks and grumbles. The trees laugh and fling off their droplets, ready to party once again.
The flowers you brought
Wilt with the weight of my tears
A heart cracks open
