When We Were Water

Endless ocean sea blue

When we were water
Our house was our shroud
Under vaporous heaven
We worshiped a cloud

When we were water
We bubbled with languor
We formed no defenses
We never knew anger

When we were water
We moved with the moon
Resplendent in starlight
With no notion of soon

When we were water
We watched without eyes
Waiting for the world
To actualize
