They say all good things
Come in small packages:
A bit of fine chocolate,
The quick whiff of jasmine,
An unbroken seashell,
A delicate hummingbird,
The purr of a kitten,
A few kindhearted words.
A smattering of dewdrops
On a miniature blossom
Glisten like tears
At the return of the dawn.
One night at a time
Is how I get through—
Each, a minuscule victory
Since I lost you.
