She creates the perfect protagonist, a hero for the ages, yet despite all his bravery and success, he is still humble and kind, not to mention that he has the cutest smile and the most gorgeous green eyes. It is no mystery why she falls in love with him and refuses to consider any meatspace men for a romantic connection. How can anyone compare to the fantasy in her mind, which fulfills her every desire?
It seems outrageous to devote her life to a fictional character who exists only outside space and time, but that is exactly what she does. She feels reality shrink and disappear as she spends all her hours immersed in dreamland with Mr. Right. Her happiness is infinite.
But her advance isn’t, and so she sighs and sends her hero off to her agent, who advises her to kill him off in the sequel.

Do you, Paula, ever fall in love with your protagonists? Do most writers?
