Daylight shines longingly on
As I watch the waves crest and crash;
Night sashays in late.
He thinks I should be satisfied
With a sliver of silvery moon—
Flings a handful of stars on the table.
A few hours of elemental bliss
Spiral out to the endless sea;
Don’t ask him where he’s been.
Poetry form: cascade.
