What goes up
Must come down,
Or so I’ve heard–
Like butterflies and birds,
Soufflés and expectations.
Yet clouds float on and on,
And rainbows go round and round.
You can’t count
The grains of sand;
Likewise, my love expands
To fill the galaxies.
This infinite love for my children,
And their children,
Is as uncountable as the stars,
Immeasurable,
Timeless,
Endless.

There is such truth in your poem. So well stated. I remember before grandkids not being able to comprehend the “Nana” syndrome. Then when mine came along I fell under the same wonderful spell.
