Melting planet

Melanie has plucked some questions from the weird zone and offered them to us this week in a crazy bouquet. 💐

1. Is cereal soup? Why or why not?

Cereal is not soup, whether either is hot or cold. Soup is a liquid, while cereal is a solid. Some cereals can become liquidy if you add milk or water, but grain itself is not a liquid.

2. What are some interesting ways to answer everyday questions like “how’s it going” or “what do you do”?

How’s it going? It’s gone! What do you do? Depends on the price…

3. What was your favorite toy growing up?

I loved Super Spirograph, puzzles, and Barbies. Caveat: I liked the Barbies of yesteryear when you had a few dolls and the fun was buying new outfits and accessories for them. Today, it’s not like that. Dolls come prepackaged to a theme, with everything included. You buy a new doll/package for a new theme. It takes away from creativity. I used to improvise stuff for Barbie scenes, crochet rugs for her house, find teeny play pets, etc. This is the Barbie from the year I was born. Find yours!

3. If you have a pet, and you could ask it three questions, what would you ask?

Why are you so loud? Why do you have to chase the other kitty until she swats you? Why don’t you bury your poop?

  1. I’m too old for this and Barbie and dolls in general we’re not my liking

  2. My year’s Barbie was a beachy Barbie and Ken. I’ve always found Ken a bit creepy. I made my own version of Ken by chopping a Barbie’s hair off.

  3. My year was “Talking Barbie” I never had one of those. We used to sew clothes for barbie or crochet blankets or rugs. I always lost her shoes though. Used to make me so upset.

  5. Barbie wasn’t introduced until 1959, when I was three. Looking at them, though, 1967 Barbie looks eerily like Taylor Swift…

  6. Thanks Paula for Sharing Your World! Interesting Barbie ‘fact’ sheet…mine is the one with the heavy eyeliner and the one piece with Zebra stripes. Although I ‘inherited’ several older Barbies from my cousins who had outgrown them. I agree. Making and finding stuff for your Barbie was fully half the fun! The little shoes (I got a whole cigar box full of accessories from those same cousins), the handbags that matched, the clothes…what a load of memories I have of Barbie. ❤ Thanks! You have a cat that doesn't bury its poop? O_o That's something I've never heard of..but I did have a dog once that insisted on pooping in the bushes, he'd back up or get INTO the bush to go. So in a way he was hiding his poop. Animals are so strange, aren't they? And your kitty (pictured, that is your cat?) is so cute. Such an innocent face! Aw!

  7. haha I was 9 years old when the first Barbie was created. I didn’t get one until a few years later with the bubble hair do.
Your kitty is so cute – wish he could really tell you why he does all that mischief. 🙂

  10. I was never really into dolls, but I do miss the Spirograph! Loved that thing!

Re Gatsby: May be the litter. My sister switched to a non-clumping one and suddenly her cat was burying its poop.
