A Date To Remember

Written for Fandango’s FFC 89

“Then I contacted the happiness engineers! And they solved the problem!” Lynsey began laughing.

Bryan guffawed. “That’s hilarious, sweetie! We need to remember this date and celebrate every year. The day your blog was saved.”

“Oh, for sure,” Lynsey agreed. “I’m putting it in my phone calendar right now. November eighth, two thousand sixteen.”

Bryan frowned. “November eighth, hmm. I vaguely recall we were supposed to do some important thing today.”

“More important than checking out the dessert menu?” Lynsey said. “Look, they have cannolis!”

“Yum!” Bryan said. “Want to share? You get the cannoli and I’ll order the tiramisu.”

Lynsey nodded and closed the menu. “Good plan, honey.”

“I know!” Bryan snapped his fingers. “We’re supposed to go vote today.”

“Oh yeah. But it’s kind of late. The polls are probably closed now.” Lynsey shrugged.

“Right.” Bryan stirred his coffee. “Plus what difference would two more votes make anyway?”

“Very true.” Lynsey gave their order to the waiter.

“We know who’s gonna win.” Bryan grinned. “Woohoo, our first female president!”
