The Monday Peeve 55

Smiles and positive posts are all well and good, but sometimes I need to vent a bit. How about you? That’s what The Monday Peeve is all about, a chance to blow off a little steam at the beginning of the week, so then we can go merrily on our way once again (hah). I’ll pick a topic that’s on my mind, but you can vent about whatever you please, here in comments or on your own blog. Grab the photo, use the TMP tag, link back to me (or not), and Bob’s yer uncle. I do reserve the right to delete any links that offend my delicate sensibilities. So far, none have, but it could happen. I have feelings!

Random tech issues drive me bonkers! That’s today’s peeve, btw. If anything should be consistent in this world, it’s a computer, amirite? Computers aren’t whimsical beings, subject to mood swings and irrational decisions. They are meant to react the same way to the same thing every time. And yet… and yet… they don’t! Yesterday, I was literally in tears over the bizarre way my laptop behaved while I tried to do a smidge of work. It was so slow and so weird. And just when I thought, okay, this is it, I am totally buying a new one… it quit doing all the annoys, sped up, and was fine for the rest of the day. ARGH!!!

  2. When a good friend of mine was complaining about his computer, I told him that he should stay off of those porn sites and he didn’t like my advice at all.

  4. By “my laptop,” do you mean that computer that Microsoft graciously allows you to use whenever they don’t need to take it over to run their updates or whatever nefarious mischief? (If you have a Mac, please insert appropriate operating system.)

  8. Just a thought: when those odd episodes (and we’ve all had them) of computer slow and no go happen, it might just be your internet CONNECTION that’s at fault. Mine is touted as “the fastest high speed internet connection on the planet” (a bit far reaching of them IMHO) but it routinely craps on itself and my little machines get the blast. The mouse goes wonky, the computer loads so slowly that I could literally paint a wall in my home before it finishes processing the task I may have ask it to do; the movie or TV show I want to stream won’t load at all (irritating spinning icon bullshit) etc etc. I know it’s not MY stuff, so logically it has to be THEM (the internet provider) … and most of the time I’m right too. I’m glad your wonkiness worked itself out before destruction of the laptop occurred.

  9. Rotary phones☎️ using a pencil to dial if you just did your nails💅🤣🤣 ah… the good old days!

My phone camera always seems to seize up when the Parrots are close. It’s amazing I ever get any pictures of them at all. Sometimes I just have to close and reopen the the camera. Most of the time I have to reboot the whole dang thing 🤬

  10. Funny enough, I had random tech issues today. I rarely have to call tech support. Today I called them twice, for two different things. Things that were resolved quickly and easily. Well, my phone works. There’s that.
