Uh Oh It’s Magic!

Questions from Melanie/Sparks…

In your opinion, what’s the closest thing to real magic?

Love ❤️

Where is the worst smelling place you’ve been?

Anywhere they’re doing tar (roofs or roads). The noxious fumes give me an instant migraine and make me sick to my stomach.

What are some things that you’ve heard in your own life, which sounded like compliments but were actually insults?

“You’re fairly intelligent.” (But)

“You’re an attractive woman.” (But)

What incredibly common thing have you never done?

Camping, skiing, surfing (all common in California).

Please feel free to share some gratitude that you experienced during the past week!  🙂

Grateful the 4th is over and hoping the selfish people will quit setting off booms for a while.

  1. Thanks Paula for Sharing Your World. I do hope it remains quiet in your neck of the woods! Here? The booming and noise and entitled asshats masquerading as ‘just plain folks’ will continue to annoy because coming up on the 24th we have another ‘big’ holiday, the birthday of Utah becoming a state. In former years they host a big parade (Days of ’47 Parade) in Salt Lake City (it was once the 2nd largest parade in America – second only to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, but now it’s dwindled to a mere shadow of it’s former glory. I have to wonder if Covid won’t kill it altogether). There was a lot of activities going on and especially a big firework show. Since Kooties 19 this year, I wonder if anyone will do a damned thing except stay at home, BBQ some steaks and invite their own families around and SET OFF THOSE G*DD*MNED fireworks all night long. It’s pretty all good though. I just turned up my volume on my TV and fed the boys sedatives to keep them calm and we all went to bed by 11 p.m. I hope you can enjoy the same kind of peace.

  4. I don’t like smelling tar either. Hope things have settled down. It was so bad here with large mortars. Frank & I had to take turns sitting with our dog. She is old and it was the worst year so far for her. Great answers, by the way! 😊

  6. I’ve never been surfing, either, unless you count lying on a boogie board and riding the crest of a wave to the shore as surfing.”

  7. Do you know, that smell is my very earliest memory, of my very first day at school, aged four – fifty years ago now. They must have been re-tarring the playground on my very first day. So I’m unlike you, that smell for me brings back pleasant memories.
