Socially Distant Picnic

Picnic table and chair

So with all my dismissals of how I don’t need to socialize in person, truth be told after 3 full months of not seeing any of my friends, I was getting depressed. This past Sunday, several of us got together in a friend’s backyard for a bring your own lunch and sit far apart picnic. It was super fun! ๐Ÿ˜

We spent a few hours chomping and chatting… and it was so nice to be with humans in person as opposed to over Zoom. Normally when I see these peeps we play board games, but we didn’t do that on Sunday, due to sitting far apart and being careful not to touch things in common. But it was still great to hang out and we’ll be doing it again soon (I hope).

That’s my smile for this week… just seeing some friends in person I’ve missed during lockdown. ๐Ÿฅฐ

  2. Sounds fun. For just chatting and such nothing beats face to face. I am lucky, I have been able to meet a couple of friends outside, far from the crowds, and keeping socially distanced, throughout. It’s one good thing about having to walk the dogs three times a day ๐Ÿ˜‰

  6. Glad you had a get-together! So much better to see people in person. My daughter and grand-daughter came by yesterday for a little bit. We still wore our masks, but gave some hugs anyway. So good ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. I agree that physical proximity seems to matter more than we realize. I still miss being able to hug people, but being 3 feet apart in person also does a lot of good.
