Sunset Lady

Lavender sunset

She began to cherish the sky:

The apricot sun soaked in rum,

Set afire only to sink out of sight.

She listened for voices:

What was once a distraction,

Now became a concerted delight.

She explored all the tastes

She had once denied herself

During that final, darkest night.
