Now They Tell Me [socs]

Do not use excessive force to make connections.

Use just the right amount of force?

They never tell you what that is though. The right amount. Not too little and not too much. Some would say not to use any force and let the butterfly flutter free to see if it will return. But what if your butterfly has a broken GPS? Poor butterfly, flitting around all lost and alone, wishing it could return to me, but unable to do so because it forgot my address. HOW SAD IS THAT? Wouldn’t it have been better to attach a pretty, glittery, golden chain on my butterfly so it couldn’t flutter too far? I think so! That doesn’t seem excessive. Some would say it is though. I know they would. I can hear them now. Don’t chain a butterfly! Ugh. People who have butterflies with good GPS’s will never be sympathetic to those of us who want to connect to the broken butterflies. Or who ARE broken butterflies…

  1. I wish I had a GPS on my cats, because they hide everyplace and I wonder if they somehow escaped when I can’t find them.

  4. Broken GPS would be a problem… I dont think a chain would be best, but definitely a big ol flashing neon arrow pointing at home if they get lost while trying to explore and flutter in freedom.πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ¦‹πŸ’Œ

  7. Had a friend once–we called him “Moose”–whose strategy for using the exact amount of force for tightening bolts was to tighten until the bolt broke, then back it off 1/4 turn. He’s the guy who pulled the change machine where he worked off the wall because it stole his dollar.
