Note: I’m doing the April A-to-Z challenge without signing up or linking back to the main site.
During the first game night 2012 with my current game group, we played Quiddler, Taboo, and Encore. I also played Scrabble one-on-one with a pro who used a timer and kicked my butt twice. That was pretty demoralizing because up until then I had considered myself a fairly good player. I also had never used a timer before. Noob!
Anyway, I’m here to talk about Encore today. I have mixed feelings about this game. On the one hand, I love the concept: song lyrics, woohoo! Love me some lyrics. Words and music, for sure, but mostly I’m a words girl. Always give me the words. But on the other hand, I’m a horrible singer, the absolute worst, and some of my friends are really good, so it’s embarrassing to play with them. I mostly just speak the lyrics.
Also, the way we usually play makes the game go on forever. So, at first, I’m all yay Encore… fun, yippee! Then after an hour, when we’re still on the first word, since my peeps know so many tunes, I’m like ugh can we move onnnn already? Three hours in it’s 2AM and we’ve done 4 words. I am not exaggerating. 🎶🎶🎶
It’s a good game. Highly recommend. 😻
Please tune in tomorrow when I will blog about Field Hockey. Yep.
