Madness

Girl under the sea

The cloak of madness slipped

Around my trembling limbs:

A silken skin

Of spangled confidence.

Blue-green hymns

Sang me to a sea

Tangled in promises.

Sinking as the moon

Disappeared from view,

I waited for the dream;

But there was nothing

In that wild sea for me.
