Three Things Challenge 176

three things challenge Notice! September 10, 2019 will be the last day I host 3TC. It’s been a pleasure. Thanks to all who’ve participated. If you would like to host, please let me know, and I will announce it here.

Welcome back to the Three Things Challenge. Every day at 10PM (PST) I will post three seemingly unconnected things that will, hopefully, ignite your muse. You don’t have to use all three things if you don’t want to. There are no restrictions on length, style, genre, or anything. Simply read the prompt, see where your muse takes you, and bring us along for the ride. Use 3TC as a tag if you’d like and link back to this prompt, or post your link in the comments below so others can find you.

Happy Writing! 😀

Today’s prompt: granite, zucchini, lie

  1. Hey Paula, cool awkward words 🙂

A real challenge there, the first lie is you mean courgette, honestly the Americans what gives – zucchini, anyone would think that was set in granite?? 🙂

  3. Paula set the zucchini on the kitchen countertop and after glancing at the open laptop one more time to verify the recipe instructions, grabbed the hammer and raised it above her head. Were they sure?? A hammer?? And what about her brand new granite countertop? Would it withstand a blow from a hammer, even cushioned, as it would be, by a slightly underripe zucchini?

Well, thought Paula as she raised the hammer a little higher, where it trembled slightly with intent, the salesman at the kitchen place had just last month assured her that granite would withstand any blow, any amount of force. He was vehement. It was the perfect substance for a kitchen counter top: strong, resilient, bullet-proof.

    It was a lie.

  5. I lied! I didn’t eat the zucchini! I hid it under the granite counter.

  7. Have you had no interest in someone taking over at all Paula? I don’t do it every day, but it can be fun.
