Bathroom Door Mystery [FOWC]

I have certain routines. I am a creature of habit ~ and so is my cat. When I come home from work, the first thing we do is play on the floor and talk about our day. Well, mostly I talk actually. He’s a very good listener.

But yesterday things were all wrong. The bathroom door was shut! I never close it when I leave my apartment because the litterbox is in there. On reflex, I went to open it ~ but wait! What if there was a burglar hiding behind the door? Or some kind of scary monster? 😱

Okay. I reopened the front door, so the neighbors would hear me scream and do nothing, like neighbors do. Then I grabbed my cell phone and dialed 911, ready to hit send if a creepy jumped out. Then I flung open the bathroom door!

As you’d expect… there was nothing. I even bravely yanked back the shower curtain to make sure there wasn’t an alligator in the bathtub. Nope. But why was the door shut? Could kitty have done it? Unlikely but possible, I suppose. Or a teensy weensy earthquake. Wind? This will forever remain a mystery.

Please note that my good kitty did not have any “accidents” outside the bathroom. He may howl like a wolf in the middle of the night, but at least he has great litterbox habits.

The face of innocence. 🤣🙄❤️

  2. See, when you live alone and you know you lock the door, pretending you didn’t is the only excitement we uber-safe spinster types have. Or to put it another way: I have pretended I had a stalker in the guest bedroom because I thought I saw a shadow.
